Chris Vonderhaar is the President of Fleet Data Centers. Chris joined Fleet in 2024. He is responsible for data center development and operations. Chris brings more than 25 years of experience planning, building and operating digital infrastructure assets.
Chris is a member of the Fleet Investment Committee and a senior team member of Tract Capital.
Prior to joining Fleet, Chris was Vice President Demand and Supply Management for Google Cloud. He was responsible for Google’s Technical Infrastructure and Cloud server hardware capacity planning, supply chain, data center operations and supply chain operating system development.
From 2010-2023, Chris led several infrastructure planning, development and operations organizations for Amazon Web Services (AWS). Over his tenure, Chris led large, global multi-discipline engineering and operations teams that launched 30 new AWS regions and deployed more than 4 GW of data center capacity globally. As Vice President, AWS Global Data Centers, he led a team of 15,000 employees and had end-to-end accountability for the AWS global data center fleet including forecasting, planning, design, engineering, construction, operations, sustainability and community engagement, as well as procuring and managing all of AWS’ real estate, colocation and utility assets (energy, water, renewables). In addition, he launched and led AWS Infrastructure Workforce Development that hired ~40% of Data Center employees globally, including 53% diverse hires, over 4 years.
Chris’ relationships with several other members of the Tract Capital team date back to Level 3 Communications. While at Level 3, Chris held various IT, planning, build and operations roles during the buildout of Level 3’s global backbone and metro networks and as an operations leader serving transport, colocation, internet access and content distribution network customers.
