Mr. Borghei was appointed as the CEO of Symphony Wireless in April 2024. He is an accomplished wireless telecommunications and infrastructure industry executive, boasting three decades of domestic and international experience. With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, Mr. Borghei brings solid industry expertise and educational background to his roles.
Notably, Mr. Borghei co-founded Vertical Bridge REIT, the largest US-based, privately held telecom infrastructure REIT, where he served as Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Operations from January 2014 to July 2022. He played a pivotal role in shaping the company's trajectory, emphasizing operational efficiency, execution, regulatory compliance, engineering, and innovation. He was the lead executive to help Vertical Bridge obtain its Carbon Footprint Neutral certification, which was the first in the world for any tower company. In 2021, Vertical Bridge was acquired by CDPQ and Digital Bridge for close to $7.5 Billion. Previously, he held leadership positions at Global Tower Partners, the largest privately held telecom tower company during its existence, overseeing market operations and new site development across diverse regions including North, South, and Latin America, which was sold to American Tower in 2013 for close to $5.5 Billion.
Before his roles at Vertical Bridge and Global Tower Partners, Mr. Borghei held several executive and senior management positions at various wireless operators, service providers, and infrastructure companies across North and South America and EMEAsuch as Omnipoint Communications, Triton PCS, Western Wireless International (Ireland Operations), WFI (EMEA operations run out of London, UK), TruePosition, and SkyBitz.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Borghei is committed to fostering innovation and education in the industry. He actively contributes to advancing engineering and entrepreneurship education as a member of the Advisory Boards for the Villanova School of Engineering and its Engineering Entrepreneurship program. He also serves on FreshWave Group's board of directors, a UK-based telecom infrastructure company, reflecting his dedication to shaping the industry's future. He previously served as Chairman of the Endowment committee for the Tower Family Foundation for three years.
